Minchones Gorge

This gorge is characterized for being a very popular bathing area, for having a great flow and for being a little less accessible than the rest of the bathing areas around the municipality of Villanueva de la Vera.

The waters of this gorge flow into the Tiétar River and irrigate the innumerable tobacco plantations along its banks.
Along this gorge you can find small bathing areas such as the well-known “Los Muros”, named after the remains of an ancient Roman bridge, the pool of the “Islillas” or the reservoir of Minchones.
These peculiarities are a real attraction for both national and international visitors who visit us every year to discover all the corners that are hidden in this beautiful region of Extremadura.
